A Love That Stands the Test of Time: Elizabeth & Jerry’s Story

For nearly 45 years, Elizabeth and Jerry Workman have shared a love built on trust, laughter, and the simple joys of life together. Their story began in Shadyside, where fate brought them together. After two years of dating, they exchanged vows at Shadyside United Methodist Church, officially beginning their journey as husband and wife.



Though they didn’t have children together, their blended family of five children has been a beautiful part of their lives. Their love for adventure led them to spend many wonderful trips fishing in Canada, a favorite pastime they cherished until 2019.

When asked about the secret to a long-lasting marriage, Jerry jokingly says, "Keep your fingers crossed!" But their love is clearly built on something deeper—trust, companionship, and small gestures that mean the world.

Jerry lovingly describes Elizabeth as "a good person and trustworthy." And for Elizabeth, the sweetest moments are when Jerry sings "You Are My Sunshine" to her—a melody that perfectly captures the warmth of their love.

Their days are filled with simple pleasures, whether it’s sharing breakfast at Eat N Park or Cracker Barrel, spending time with their beloved cat, or Jerry’s daily lunch visits to Park Health to be by Elizabeth’s side.

Their story is a testament to love that lasts, a bond that grows stronger with time, and a partnership filled with unwavering devotion.
